FFL celebrates world environment day.
Among the present were the respected Managing Director, Mr. Fakir Kamruzzaman Nahid along with Head of Strategic Management Mr. Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman, Chief Finance Officer A. H. M. Ariful Islam (FCA), Chief Textile Officer Mr. Hafizur Rahman, Senior General Manager, Admin/HR/Compliance Mr. Sultan Mahbubul Haque, Head of Sustainability and Textile Development Consultant Mr. Hilario Decena Catamco and other dignitaries of Fakir Fashion.
Key topics of discussion were FFL’s sustainable approaches to production and recent activities regarding the 3r approach of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Recent innovations regarding sustainability presented were recovery and use of heat from gas generator exhaust through exhaust gas boilers, harvesting and use of 10 million liters of rainwater per year, use of 464kw solar power energy, recovery and reusing of water from dyeing and slitting machines, reducing the use of plastic in the overall manufacturing process, total compliance to ZDHC (zero discharge of hazardous chemicals) guidelines among others.
As a heavy industry, small changes in policies and production processes create great changes when it comes to reducing environmental impact as well as cost savings regarding operations. FFL is grateful for the visionary lead from our respected head of operations relating to sustainable textile production and looking forward to becoming an industry leader in sustainable manufacturing in the future.
